(Mooresville, N.C. April 5, 2016-) After almost a two-month hiatus since racing at the Daytona International Speedway, the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards gears up for the second race of the 2016 season at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee.
19-year old Brady Boswell will make his ARCA Racing Series debut driving the No. 98 Chevrolet for championship team Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM)
“I am very excited to take the next step in my career,” an excited Boswell stated. “My dream of making it to NASCAR is now one step closer.”
“I would compare it to Memphis International Raceway. I raced there in the X-1R Pro Cup series in 2014. Nashville is pretty unique in itself and isn’t really similar to another track, but I compared it to Memphis because they both have long straightaways with decent banked corners.”
Boswell is no stranger to racing on short tracks. He won the X-1R Pro Cup rookie of the year in 2013 while finishing fourth in points. The late model standout compiled 12 top-five’s and 21 top-10’s in 23 starts from 2013-2014.
Last year marked ARCA’s return to the half-mile track for the first time since 1992. MMM enjoyed success at the historic track earning a podium finish by finishing third.
This weekend also marks the first race for the 2016 Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge. The Short Track Challenge consists of 11 short track races. Last year MMM finished third in short track points with driver Austin Wayne Self.
Last Time Out: At Daytona both Gus Dean and Cole Powell both qualified inside the top-ten. Trouble found both drivers on lap two as both drivers were caught up in the “big one” resulting in both cars suffering DNF’s
Chassis: Boswell will pilot chassis No. 588 out of the MMM stable. Chassis 588 has 14 starts with 1 win (Winchester), six top-five’s and nine top-10 finishes. The car was last race in the Salem Fall Classic last September.
Autographs Anyone?: Fans will have the opportunity to meet Brady Boswell during the ARCA drivers autograph session Saturday during the Southern Super Series/CRA race.
In two years in the Series MMM’s earned four wins, 22 top-five finishes, 35 top-ten’s, five Menards pole awards along with capturing the 2014 ARCA championship.
The Music City 200 at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville is set for Saturday, April 9th. It’s a one-day show for the Series which means plenty of action with two 45-minute practice sessions, qualifying and the race starting at 9:00 p.m. EST. Arcaracing.com will have live timing and scoring for all on-track activity as well as a live audio call for the race. The race will also be broadcasted via tape-delayed on the American Sports Network at a later date.
