BRISTOL, Tenn. – With momentum on her side, NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) rookie Sarah Cornett-Ching (@scornettching) heads to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway for Saturdayafternoon’s running of the PittLite 125 looking for her career best finish in “Thunder Valley.”
Cornett-Ching, who gained on-track notoriety in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards last season returns to Bristol, the track where she made her K&N Pro Series debut last April. With backing from Dickies®, the world’s leading performance workwear brand, the driver of the No. 02 Dickies® Toyota Camry is ready for another solid finish for her RACE 101 team.
“I’m excited to get back to Bristol,” said Cornett-Ching who sits 12th in points entering the fourth race of the season. “I learned a lot about Bristol last year, so I feel a lot more confident coming back and knowing what to expect. We’ve made great gains since the start of the season and we look forward to continuing that Saturday afternoon.”
Of course with a new partner in Dickies® on-board, the 24-year-old is determined to keep her team and new sponsor in the spotlight, but she knows that a good performance in the double-header event on Saturday will make the task a whole lot easier.
“Momentum is everything,” added Cornett-Ching. “We have that momentum. Not only from an on-track angle, but from off-track too. The partnership with Dickies® has been extremely beneficial. We continue to receive a lot of positive feedback on the paint scheme and our uniforms. We’ll have several representatives at the track this weekend with us and we look forward to having additional support from the pit box in one of the most highly anticipated race of the season.”
With back-to-back top-12 finishes entering Bristol, Cornett-Ching says that her RACE 101 team led by crew chief Matt Weber is making strides at the shop which is transparent on the race track.
“I’m growing my knowledge of these race tracks with every lap circled,” the Summerland, British Columbia native added. “I’ve never been to a lot of these tracks, but my RACE 101 team is bringing some good equipment to the race track and we’ve been quickly been able to adapt and adjust. I’m getting more comfortable with these cars and I’m hoping that will play off at Bristol. It’s a fast place, but I really love it.”
