PORT COLBORNE, ONTARIO… (May 1, 2016) Management of the New Humberstone Speedway was forced to cancel the 2016 season opener on Sunday due to wet grounds.
“Poor ground conditions all around the property was the biggest factor into canceling tonight’s racing program” stated Director of Race Night Operations Clinton Geoffrey. “We will be having a practice session this coming Wednesday (May 4th) at 6pm” Geoffrey added.
The 57th season kickoff will now take place on Sunday May 8th at 6:30pm featuring the Race of Champions (RoC) Sportsman Tour. The best Sportsman drivers from New York State and Pennsylvania will come over the border to take on the best in the Niagara Region as the RoC makes their inaugural visit to Humberstone for race number one of RoC Sportsman Tour for 2016. Davidson Line Marking and Parking Lot Maintenance will present the night of racing on Mothers Day that will also include the Pinty’s RUSH Late Models, JC Auto Street Stocks, Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks and the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks. Gates will swing open at 4:30pm with racing getting underway at 6:30pm.
