BRIGHTON, Ont. – May 2, 2016 – Brighton Speedway’s Monster Energy Season Opener presented by UCB Radio Canada was an overwhelming success on Saturday night. A capacity, standing room only crowd took full advantage of $2 admission and helped the track make the largest non-perishable food donation in its history to the Brighton Fare Share Food Bank.
Track officials unloaded 3980 pounds of food on Monday at the Food Bank. The food bank was overflowing with products following the donation. The donation will go towards helping local families in need of food or personal toiletry items.
“It is great to see the fans of Brighton Speedway support this great initiative that continues to grow each year,” said Mark Rinaldi, Brighton Speedway’s owner and track promoter. “This is the largest amount of food we have donated to the Brighton Fare Share Food Bank to date and we’re excited to continue growing this tradition.”
Brighton Speedway would like to extend its sincere thanks to drivers, teams, fans and staff for making the donation possible.
The Brighton Fare Share Food Bank is located at 39 Elizabeth Street in Brighton. It is open the third and fourth Monday of every month from 9:00am to Noon and the fourth Monday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Call (613) 475-4190 for more information.
