Unfortunately for Jordan Latimer, things didn’t go as he would’ve hoped on opening night as he was involved in a couple incidents and fought carburetor issues in the second feature en route to a pair of finishes outside of the top-10.
Latimer started off the night by posting a lap of 15.308 seconds in time trials to start the first feature in the 16th position. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side as he’d go around for a spin on the second lap. Restarting at the tail of the field and making a pit stop under caution at lap 21, Latimer would cross the finish line in the 19th position.
Starting the second feature in the 19th spot, luck wasn’t on Latimer’s side this time around either as he’d get caught up in a pair of wrecks in the first eight laps of the feature. From there on, the teenager worked at gaining ground, though fighting motor issues, he was only able to get up to 15th before the checkered flag flew.
