Peterborough, ON (May 16, 2016)-Don’t miss the chance to experience one of the most anticipated motorsports events in the province.
Speedway owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse says it’ll be great to welcome back the fans for another year.
“The pre-season promotional events and shows helped create the mood. Now, its time to put the action on the track,” said Josiasse. “The fans are ready. Our staff is ready and the drivers and race teams have done their homework. We’re anxious to put the excitement of short track stock car racing into high gear.”
With the driver rosters in each weekly division welcoming new competitors, defending track title holders like Oosterholt, Junkin, Dallin and others could be in for an uphill fight in their quest to regain their seats at the championship table.
For 2016, Peterborough Speedway has an action-packed schedule in store for supporters of the tight, tricky bullring on Mount Pleasant Road, west of the Liftlock City. In addition to the electrifying struggles from green flag to checkered, opening night also features an on-track autograph session – where fans can meet the drivers and see the cars – at intermission.
“The fan appreciation gatherings are as popular with the race teams as they are with the spectators,” offered Josiasse. “After putting-in some long hours during the off season, everyone is anxious to show-off their equipment and establish a new group of fan support that will hopefully last throughout the entire year.
With so much going on during the annual Country 105 Season Opener – Saturday, May 21st – pit gates will open at 1:00, with the spectator grandstands unlocked at 3:00 and the night’s first qualifying heat race on the track at 5:00.
Bullring bullet points: Its not too late to take advantage of the special ticket packages being offered. A 2016 season pass includes 14 regular nights of racing, a pair of OSCAAR events, the Chase for the Colours Pole qualifier and the 100 lap APC Pro Late Model show for just $170. That’s nearly $50 off the regular price. The Super Pass, with the 24th Annual Autumn Colours Classic added to the mix is only $210. A reduction of almost $65 from the grandstand admission, while a bundle of 10 regular season tickets for $120. Select ‘season passes’ from the Fan Info drop-down menu on the track web-site.
