Unfortunately, there was no luck on Cameron McGlashan’s side on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway as he was caught up in a first lap crash.
The night started off well for last year’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Division IV Track Champion, as he finished sixth in his qualifying heat, followed by a 12th place finish in the Fast Qualifier’s Dash.
The re-draw for the feature placed him in 13th, which wouldn’t work out in his favor. Unfortunately, it was a messy start as Tiemersma got sideways on the frontstretch after contact, getting into Paxton. The result was Paxton sent across the track up into the wall, collecting McGlashan. Adams then made heavy contact with the rear of McGlashan’s car afterwards. The result was McGlashan being done for the evening.
The team hopes to get back out as soon as possible, but knows it’ll be a lot of work to get the damage repaired.
