On June 21, it was announced Brian Scott will be getting a new look to his No. 44 Ford Fusion this weekend at Sonoma Raceway, which will be the first road course race of the season. Blue-Emu, an over-the-counter muscle and join cream win join Safeway as a co-primary sponsor for the car.
While Scott will be racing his first race at Sonoma Raceway, this will not be Blue Emu’s first time being a sponsor with Richard Petty Motorsports. They have been an associate sponsor of the organization since 2014 as well as being the primary sponsor last season in the night race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
“The relationship we have built with the Blue-Emu brand over the past year is something we are very proud of,” Mike Hargrave, Chief Marketing Officer and EVP of Richard Petty Motorsports stated. “We’re excited to continue our support of Blue-Emu to the millions of NASCAR fans who will either be in attendance at Sonoma or watching the race on the FOX Sports Network.”
Blue-Emu is a Nutrition &Fitness, INC product and is also used as dba/NFL Consumer Products. The company makes, markets, and distributes the Blue-Emu line of products for muscle, joint, and skin issues as well as a most recent launch of a first over- the- counter lidocaine pain patch “Lidocare”.
“Our product line was recently added by Safeway and by partnering with Richard Petty Motorsports at Sonoma, this provided us an unique way of announcing it. Given Safeway’s strength on the West Coast and Blue-Emu’s commitment to consumer focused retailer brand partnerships, this was an opportunity that could not be missed,” added Benjamin Blessing, EVP of NFI Consumer Products.
Scott will be driving in his first race of his NASAR career at Sonoma Raceway this weekend. Even though he has never driven on the 1.99 mile, 12 turn road course in his career, he has had some success on other road courses. He will look to expand that success in the Sonoma 350 on Sunday which begins at 3:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1 as well as Sirius XM NASCAR radio channel 90.
“I’m really excited to be able to add Blue-Emu to the No. 44 Ford Fusion this weekend in Sonoma,” Scott quoted. “Since I’ve never raced at Sonoma before, Ford Performance has been kind enough to let me practice in their state-of-the-art simulator and really help me get ready for the twelve different turns Sonoma has to offer. I know because of the nature of road course racing it will be a lot of beating and banging on our Blue-Emu/Safeway Ford Fusion, but I’m looking forward to a different style of racing than we’ve had so far this year and bringing a good finish home to Richard Petty Motorsports.”
