Despite going for a mid-race slide courtesy of contact, Terry Woodley managed to hold on to post a top-10 finish at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night.
Woodley started off the night by finishing third in his heat, followed by a sixth place finish in the Fast Qualifier’s Dash.
Starting mid-pack for the feature, Woodley made his way up to the sixth spot in the first four laps, poised for a strong run. He fell back some starts on the restart, but was able to put himself seventh after getting around an incident which happened ahead of him with 14 laps to go.
The mid-race restart didn’t fare well in Woodley’s favor as while running mid-pack, Gerrit Tiemersma made slight contact with his back bumper, sending him for a slide. He managed to keep the wheels underneath him, though fell back a spot as a result.
Over the final laps, Woodley put together some solid laps, maintaining ground en route to posting a solid eighth place finish.
Notably, Woodley has posted 21 straight top-10 finishes dating all the way back to last season.
