On Saturday night, Robert Toope had a solid run en route to a seventh place finish at Sunset Speedway.
Toope kicked off the night by finishing third in his heat, followed by a fifth place finish in the Fast Qualifier’s Dash.
Starting mid-pack for the feature, he escaped the first lap crash without any damage. He’d continue to make up ground, battling Johnny Paradzinski for eighth at Lap 19. Paradzinski was able to get by, bumping Toope back to ninth. Toope was challenged for the spot by Doug Wilman, but Toope kept the No. 25 Mustang ahead to keep the spot.
In the final two laps, he was able to make a pass to cross the finish line in the eighth. He’d end up being scored seventh as a result of the runner-up finisher being disqualified.
Notably, it marks the fourth straight top-10 finish for Toope this season.
Toope is proud to be supported by The Beach Bar and Grill, Trade Mark Signs, Rikota Mechanical, CCL Landscape Design, Auto Trim Barrie, The Tree Guys, Jimmy Sign (Adcon Enterprize), Revolution Tires, Highway 400 Transmission, The Stump King (Jim Herrington), Atkins Appliance, and South Bound Roofing in memory of Lloyd Robbins.
Toope will be back on track this weekend, July 9, at Sunset Speedway.
