Kyle Busch has his sights firmly locked on a return trip to Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s vaunted victory lane.
The defending race winner and Sprint Cup Series champion set the mark to beat during Friday Afternoon’s final practice session for Sunday’s Crown Royal presents the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at The Brickyard. Busch ran a fast lap of 48.749 seconds (184.619 MPH).
Kevin Harvick was second just .093 seconds off of Busch’s pace. Kyle Larson was third followed by Ryan Newman and Carl Edwards.
Austin Dillon, Jimmie Johnson, Martin Truex Jr., Danica Patrick, and AJ Allmendinger rounded out the top ten.
Notables include: Joey Logano 11th, Chase Elliott 12th, Jamie McMurray 13th, Ryan Blaney 14th, Greg Biffle 15th, Denny Hamlin 17th, Brad Keselowski 18th, Kurt Busch 19th, Kasey Kahne 20th, Tony Stewart 24th, Jeff Gordon 25th, and Matt Kenseth 30th.
The Sprint Cup Series returns to the track tomorrow for Sprint Cup Series qualifying at 1:45 P.M. ET on NBC Sports Network.
