By Tommy Goudge (August 3, 2016) Six Nations, Ontario – Alex Hill recently claimed her first podium finish in a 360 Sprint Car, and followed that by making her debut in both a 410 Sprint Car and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series. Now the 16 year old driver is set to take on both the Knoxville 360 Nationals for the first time.
Alex had a busy week planned, with a regularly-scheduled feature at Ohsweken Speedway’s Autograph Night on July 22, plus the rained-out feature from July 8. Races on July 25 (Northern Crate Nationals) and July 26 (World of Outlaws) at Ohsweken were also on the schedule, along with July 29 at Lima, Ohio, and July 30 at Crystal, Michigan. She finished 3rd in the makeup feature on July 22 and recorded her best 360 Sprint Car finish to date, but wasn’t able to finish the second feature due to mechanical problems. She was unable to qualify for the features on Monday or Tuesday at Ohsweken, and then got rained out at both US events.
Alex will take on more than 90 competitors in the Knoxville 360 Nationals this weekend. Alex made her debut at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway earlier this season, but this weekend’s event at the famed Marion County Fairgrounds half-mile will offer up much tougher competition.
