The OSCAAR Pro Midgets saw their third straight different feature winner on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway as Jordan Hanna picked up the win on Don Biederman Memorial night.
The first heat saw a pair of drivers have issues as both Wally Wilson and Larry Westwood pulled off before the checkered flag. Rob Summers picked up his first career heat victory ahead of Brian MacDonald and Cassidy March.
The second heat saw Cassidy March have to pull off with a mechanical issue before the green flag. Ted Greenwood picked up his 10th career heat victory ahead of Jordan Hanna, Jesse Costa and Katherine Summers.
Greenwood went for the daily double in heat three ahead of Hanna, Rob Summers, MacDonald and Wilson.
Glen Blaker scored his first career heat victory ahead of March, Costa and Katherine Summers.
Come feature time, it’d be Glen Blaker starting pole ahead of Jordan Hanna, Rob Summers, Brian MacDonald, Katherine Summers, Cassidy March, Wally Wilson and Jesse Costa. Unfortunately, the problems began before the start of the race with Ted Greenwood pulling off the track with an issue.
Off the drop of the green flag, Jordan Hanna put the No. 55 Pro Midget out front ahead of Blaker and Rob Summers, with MacDonald running fourth ahead of March and Katherine Summers. March began to make his move, getting alongside MacDonald for fourth at Lap 3. Meanwhile, Costa got by Katherine to move into sixth while Wilson continued to run eighth.
The climb to the front for March continued as he moved into third on Lap 5 with Rob Summers in toe as Costa raced MacDonald for fifth. Costa then made the big move, passing both Summers to move into third on Lap 6. Rob Summers now ran fourth ahead of March, with MacDonald sixth. Unfortunately, MacDonald’s strong run came to an end on Lap 8 when he pulled off with a problem.
With nine laps on the board, Hanna continued to lead ahead of Blaker, Costa, Rob Summers, March, Katherine Summers and Wilson. Costa continued to move forward, passing Blaker to move into second on Lap 10. March then was able to pass Blaker for third at Lap 13, with Rob Summers completing the pass for fourth a lap later. Ultimately, Blaker’s strong run came to an end at Lap 14 as he was forced to pull off with a mechanical issue.
Jordan Hanna led the rest of the way en route to his first career feature victory ahead of Jesse Costa, who was making his series debut. Cassidy March finished third for his second straight podium finish, followed by Rob Summer with a fourth in his series debut. Katherine Summers rounded out the top-five for her second straight top-five finish.
Wally Wilson finished sixth for his fifth straight top-six finish, followed by Glen Blaker, Brian MacDonald, Ted Greenwood and Larry Westwood.
OSCAAR would like to thank Dave Franks for the plaque Hanna got to take home.
