Trois-Rivières, (Québec, Canada), August 14, 2016 – Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has crossed the finish line in eighth place today on the circuit of the Trois-Rivières Grand Prix. The #47WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare car was fast on the track, and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has once again demonstrated the full range of his driving skills. Unfortunately, braking issues and the contact which occurred two laps from the end of the race have prevented the Trois-Rivières native from finishing among the leaders.
“The important thing in a 50-lap race is consistency. The settings we chose were conservative so we could remain efficient over a long period of time. During the qualifiers, the disks started sticking and the car was having trouble slowing down as efficiently. We thought we’d fixed the issue, but it happened again during the race and the car wouldn’t slow down. I had to start braking 100 to 150 feet ahead of everyone else. Many braking combinations were tried to unstick the brakes, but they weren’t successful,” explains Louis-Philippe Dumoulin.
On the Trois-Rivières track, everything plays out in the overtaking and braking zones. “We still managed to put up a fight, getting as much from the car as we could, but it wasn’t enough. It’s unacceptable to show up in Trois-Rivières with such an issue. It’s very disappointing for the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare team, which is giving everything it has to prepare the best possible car. We continue to do our homework, and there are still four races left in the season, including a road circuit event in Mosport. We’ve won in the past, and don’t belong in eighth place, but rather in first place. We’ll work even harder for it,” shares the determined driver of the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare car.
Ninth event of the season: Riverside International Speedway – August 20th, 2016
The #47 WeatherTech Canada / Groupe Bellemare team is now headed for Eastern Canada for the oval circuit event at the Riverside International Speedway: A track and an area which Louis-Philippe Dumoulin especially appreciates.
ABOVE AND BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!
When we started the Great Romp’s “A signature for a donation” with the Quebec Cancer Foundation, we were definitely not expecting it to reach so many people. Each and every one of your signatures allows people affected by cancer to receive special care. When combining the funds raised by the employees of Groupe Somavrac and this weekend’s $1260, the grand total now adds up to $6270. And we’re not done yet… the adventure continues this Saturday, August 20th in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
