by Tommy Goudge (September 8, 2016) – Ohsweken, Ontario – Ohsweken Speedway’s 21st season of racing continues this Friday, September 9 when Tirecraft Ontario presents Monster Truck Mayhem Night, plus UMP Modifieds, and a full card of racing.
At 1,500 horsepower each, Overkill Evolution and Black Stallion will bring the Monster Truck Mayhem this Friday. Visit www.vatersmotorsports.com for more information on both of these incredible machines.
Along with the Monster Trucks, the night will include a full card of racing, including the second visit of the season by the UMP Modifeds, plus Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Ohsweken Speedway Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Bombers.
The UMP (United Midwestern Promoters) Modified division is a fixture at hundreds of North American dirt tracks including South Buxton Raceway, but Ontario’s UMP drivers rarely have the chance to venture east of the Chatham-area facility. Their second and final Ohsweken visit of the season is this Friday.
Competitors note: One driver and one crew member from each UMP Modified team will be admitted to the pits at the Ohsweken member price on Friday by presenting their South Buxton Raceway membership credentials at the pit sign-in booth.

About Ohsweken Speedway: Founded in 1996, Ohsweken Speedway is a motorsports complex which includes a 3/8 (0.375) mile clay oval track. The facility is owned by the Styres family, and located in the village of Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada. Ohsweken’s weekly Friday night racing program runs from May to September each year, featuring 360 Sprint Cars, Crate Sprint Cars, Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Bombers, while the season finishes each year with the annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. Ohsweken Speedway also hosts weekly Micro Sprint racing on Thursdaynights, and has been a yearly stop on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series schedule since 2007.
