After starting tail on the field in the 20-lap feature, Lisa DeLeeuw was able to make her way through to post a top-10 finish.
DeLeeuw started off the night solidly, finishing fourth in her heat, followed by an eighth place finish in the Dash for Cash.
Originally slated to start near the front for the feature, she was forced to make a pit stop during pace laps due to the gas cap being loose. Following the stop, she had to start the race from the tail of the field.
Starting from last, she made ground early and got around a spinning competitor to be running eighth at Lap 4. She got a good restart, battling side-by-side with Eric Rainey for sixth at Lap 6. She was unable to complete the pass, though, falling back in line in seventh for the time being. She continued to run there till the caution flew at Lap 15 for the leaders getting together, allowing her to move up two spots to fifth.
Restarting inside the top-five, she’d get passed on the restart, which bumped her back to sixth. She was able to stay there for the rest of the laps, completing the 20-lap feature in sixth. For DeLeeuw, it marks her sixth straight top-10 finish.
