On September 17th it was announced that Team Penske had extended their partnership with Menards a top notch home improvement store company for the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season and beyond. Simon Pagenaud will continue to drive the bright yellow colors of the Menards paint scheme on his No.22 Chevrolet, with one of the notable early dates on the schedule being the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday May 28.
“Partnering Menards with our Verizon IndyCar Series program just makes sense. The company’s deep Midwest roots are a perfect fit with the IndyCar fan base,” Roger Penske stated.. “Menards is a great example of a partner that is completely engaged with our program at Team Penske. They not only make the most of our partnership by building brand awareness, Menards also helps market and promote the series, as well as our other team partners. We are excited to continue to build with them for the future.”
The 2016 IndyCar Season is when the Team Penske and Menards partnership began as Menards agreed to become a primary sponsor on the No.22 Chevy for three races and then it ended up growing to five races this season. In 2017 Menards will be the main sponsor on the No.22 with Pagenaud for 10 races, races where the company will have strong marketing presence.

Menards is a family-owned and operated business which got its start in 1958, and is based out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with 300 home improvement stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin as well as Wyoming. Menards is widely known for their low prices to coincide with their famous slogan “Save Big Money ®” because it is easy to remember.
Strategy for the partnership deal with Team Penske will include store appearances with Pagenaud and for him to bring awareness and customers but engaging with them through sweepstakes as well as merchandise at the track along with at track hospitality events.
The Verizon IndyCar Series will kick off their 2017 season on March 12 at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburgh on the streets of St.Pete.
