While leading the feature, Luke Gignac’s season came to unfortunate premature end as he suffered a mechanical failure which ended his race early.
Gignac started off the event on a great note, winning his heat to give him the runner-up starting spot for the 30-lap feature. Off the drop of the green flag, Gignac put the No. 99 Modified out front and looked to be on cruise control.
Unfortunately, Gignac’s strong run came to an end on Lap 5 as a broken throttle linkage caused him to slow, eventually pulling into the infield.
