After getting his feet wet in a part-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule last year, Canadian driver Stewart Friesen will run the full season in 2017.
Friesen will drive the No. 52 Halmar International Chevrolet for Halmar Friesen Racing. The team will be overseen by long-time NASCAR owner and former Daytona 500 winning crew chief Tommy Baldwin, Jr.
2008 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship winning crew chief Tripp Bruce will lead the team as crew chief.
Friesen ran six races in 2016 where he scored a best finish of 13th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
“I’m super excited to be part of the Halmar Friesen Racing team,”said Friesen. “We did a bit of racing last year to get our feet wet on asphalt, and we were pleased with our success. Everything we have going on with Tommy is exciting. It’s great to have his experience guiding our team so we can hit the ground running in Daytona.”
Baldwin said the team has purchased both owner points and several trucks from the No. 00 of JR Motorsports.
