Kyle Busch will compete for a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Busch qualified for the Championship 4 by winning Sunday at ISM Raceway.
Busch’s 2019 season has been tremendous with eight wins, 21 top-fives, 27 top-10’s, and four poles. Busch has led an impressive 1,448 laps this season and has an average finish of 8.4.
Busch has had a tremendously successful, but how does he perform at Homestead?
Busch has one win in the season finale event, three top-fives, and six top-10’s. A driver rating of 98.9 places him fifth on the all-time list at the speedway.
Busch took advantage of Kevin Harvick’s issues at ISM Raceway to score the win and clinch his spot in the Championship 4. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver scored a total of two wins in the playoffs, but has had his share of issues as well. Finishes of 17th, 26th, and 32nd are definitely not indicative of the strong season Busch has had. After scoring the win at ISM Raceway, however, momentum may be on his side.
Busch, who won the MENCS championship in 2015 will battle two other former champions and another driver with momentum. The drivers competing against Busch are – Joey Logano seeking his first title, defending series champion, Martin Truex Jr, and 2014 series champion, Kevin Harvick.
