INNISFIL, Ontario — This weekend’s Hoosier OSCAAR Modified event at Sunset Speedway as part of the track’s Velocity 250 Presented by McColl Racing Enterprises will mark Chad Strawn’s return to OSCAAR competition.
“We should have a competitive car judging by the last few outings,” Strawn sounded off. “Even though it didn’t show in some tough luck. I haven’t raced in what feels like forever so I’m just excited to get back at it. Hoping for a clean weekend.”
The driver of the No. 77 Eibach/Kingsmen Kustoms Modified has visited victory lane at Sunset Speedway previously, picking up a feature victory last season. In his two Sunset Speedway appearances thus far this season, Strawn finished fourth in the season opener, while finishing 13th in the second start of the season following a wreck while running in the top-six.
Strawn has found a recent string of consistency, though, posting a top-seven finish in each of his last four OSCAAR starts, highlighted by a runner-up finish at Sauble Speedway.
Strawn will qualify for the Velocity 250 on Saturday, followed by the 40-lap feature on Sunday. Details can be found, with the ability to purchase tickets, through the Sunset Speedway website at http://www.sunsetspeedway.ca.
