MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Nov. 2, 2015) – Jeb Burton, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Rookie of the Year candidate, will climb behind the wheel of the JR Motorsports (JRM) No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet Silverado for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 6.
A previous NCWTS winner at Texas in 2013, Burton will make his JRM debut and first series start since completing his second full season in 2014. In 49 career NCWTS starts, the 23-year-old’s resume boasts one win, seven top-five and 19 top-10 efforts, with seven poles.
“To tell you the truth, this is a dream come true. To run at Texas where I’ve won is very exciting, and to be in the No. 00 truck for JR Motorsports, it’s always really fast,” said Burton, who is currently driving full-time for BK Racing in the NSCS. “Cole (Custer) and everyone who gets in it does a really good job. I’m pumped up for getting the opportunity to be in the truck and I appreciate Dale (Earnhardt Jr.), Kelley (Earnhardt Miller) and LW (Miller), as well as Gene Haas for letting me drive.”
Burton joins a prominent list of drivers who have piloted the No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet, including Alex Bowman, Cole Custer, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson. The team has driven to two victories in 2015, Kahne earning the win at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Custer taking the checkers at Gateway Motorsports Park. In 13 starts this season, the No. 00 team has earned four top-five and seven top-10 finishes with two poles.
Custer, the team’s primary driver, will wrap up JRM’s inaugural season of NCWTS competition next weekend at Phoenix International Raceway (Nov. 13).
