SONOMA, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2016) — Sonoma Raceway today announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Chevys Fresh Mex, under which the California-inspired Mexican restaurant will become title sponsor of the 64-lap NASCAR K&N Pro Series West feature at Sonoma Raceway.
The Chevys Fresh Mex 200 will serve as Saturday’s main event during the Toyota / Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend, June 24-26. This is a landmark deal for one of the most popular Mexican restaurant chains in the United States.
“Chevys Fresh Mex is ready to hit the gas and get our partnership with Sonoma Raceway in high gear for our guests,” said Tim Fannin, vice president of operations for Chevys Fresh Mex. “We see this partnership as a great way to bring the excitement of race season into our restaurants.”
In connection with the sponsorship, Chevys Fresh Mex will launch several in-restaurant programs to attract, engage and entertain guests, including a new specialty cocktail menu, in-store collateral and a Chevys Fresh Mex 200 ticket giveaway through social media. The raceway will also host several NASCAR race-viewing parties at area Chevys Fresh Mex restaurants, complete with a NASCAR show car and the Sonoma Raceway Girls. The first viewing party will take place at Chevys on the riverfront in Sacramento (1369 Garden Highway) for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season opener on Sunday, Feb. 21.
To bring the Chevys Fresh Mex experience to fans, Sonoma Raceway’s dining options will be enhanced to include multiple Chevys Fresh Mex concession stands. The outposts, located beneath the Main Grandstand, in the main paddock and above Turn 2, will serve the fresh Mexican food favorites that Chevys Fresh Mex customers are accustomed to enjoying in restaurants.
“For a generation, Chevys Fresh Mex has been offering great food and a terrific restaurant experience in our community,” said Steve Page, Sonoma Raceway president and general manager. “Chevys will be an outstanding partner for our NASCAR weekend, and we are pleased to be able to offer another delicious raceway dining option for attendees at our events. We look forward to working together to ensure that our fans and Chevy Fresh Mex customers have an outstanding experience.”
