Daytona Beach, Fla. (February 18, 2016) – Venturini Motorsports (VMS) announced today Dalton Sargeant will join VMS in the No. 55 Toyota Camry for a multi-race campaign in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
On Thursday, Sargeant, the Boca Raton, Florida native, made the announcement with Venturini Motorsports on Toyota’s Pit Pass stage during Daytona Speedweeks, unveiling the No. 55 Toyota Camry.
The 17-year old, high school senior will compete in 15 of the 19 remaining events beginning at Salem Speedway on April 24. Sargeant will also drive his Toyota at Talladega, Toledo, New Jersey Motorsports Park, both Pocono dates, Michigan, Winchester, Iowa, Lucas Oil Raceway, Berlin, Salem, Chicago, Kentucky and the ARCA Series finale at Kansas.
Sargeant, a member of the 2015 NASCAR Next class, is the latest driver in a long list of successful NASCAR drivers to have joined Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series.
In 2015, Sargeant made four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts with two top-10 finishes, he also competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and several Super Late Model and Late Model starts all around the country. Sargeant had one win, two pole position starts and nine top-three finishes in 18 starts in his NASCAR K&N Pro Series rookie season.
“It’s really an honor to have the opportunity to drive the No.55 Toyota Camry for a team like Venturini Motorsports. Not only do we have fast and proven Toyota Camrys, but also a veteran crew chief in Billy Venturini. I’m looking forward to the challenge of racing on larger tracks, it’s a completely different style of racing than anything I’ve done before but really excited to have two great partners and a diverse schedule for 2016,” said Sargeant.
“I am also excited to announce the integration of Surface tablets running on Windows 10 into the organization to enable our team to be more mobile and improve communication and efficiency in and around the track. I’ve personally been utilizing the Surface Pro 4, Windows 10 Phone, and Microsoft Band 2 in my everyday life as well. Racing is such a demanding sport as we’re always on the road. My Surface Pro 4, Windows 10 phone and Microsoft Band 2 keeps me connected and allows me to still meet all my school work deadlines even when I’m on the other side of the country. And not to mention keeping up with all my fans and friends on social media. It’s truly been a transformation for me in so many ways and I can’t wait to see the transformation it makes with Venturini Motorsports as well.”
Surface Pro tablets running Windows 10 will provide Venturini Motorsports crew chiefs the ability to become more efficient with incoming data, and also allow the driver input to be documented and shared. Surface tablets with Windows 10 will give the team more mobility to analyze live race data and ultimately translates into shaving time on the track.
Since 2007, Venturini Motorsports has built a strong reputation of preparing the country’s top NASCAR driver prospects for the big stage.
Most notable Venturini Motorsports’ Alumni include drivers Joey Logano and Erik Jones.
Logano, winning two races with Venturini made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debuts with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008 and in 2015 became the second youngest Daytona 500 winner.
